(11-3-02) Ford vs Chevy 2002    by Larry Chedotal Sr.

Great Food! Great People! Good time for all at the best Holiday Inn Pre-race Party yet!  We enjoyed the most Ford and Chevy Racer stories from years past, along with the largest crowd ever at the Crank'em Up Party!  "Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler" a la Ford vs Chevy F.P.A. Style! We even had a Deer Hunter with his tree stand above the crowd enjoying the sites. He was probably drinking a little too much Budweiser when he lost his balance and fell to the ground. It was a soft landing though, but a little muddy too!  Most of all the Racers were happy, commenting that the "whole race ran smoothly and timely."  The winners of course had the biggest smiles on their faces as they collected the "Big Bucks". Two of the FPA's favorite racing competitors did it again! Manuel Babin and Hodges Mercer both took home some cash by placing in the Quarter Finals! "Job Well Done Guys!"
Ancel Horton put on a great show as well. His final 309mph run was good for the Gulfport Track record and just 6mph below his own all time record.
I'd like to acknowledge all of our dependable, hard working FPA Volunteers for the fine job both Saturday and Sunday at the track and Hotel. Without you the race would not have been possible.

By the way, we sold 85 Ford and 101 chevy tickets (1 extra, long story), and when the dust (and chevy oil) settled the final count was 90 Fords Wins to 82 chevy wins.  How about those Ford Racers!!  Give'em all a Clap!  Hope you had fun too!

(10-26-02) Ford vs chevy T Shirts Sales      by: Richard Schwab

Well, we had a good year with our T Shirts Sales, but it could have not happened without the hard work from some FPA workers: Reggie and Meg Daigle, Bob and Erin Druhan, Richard Schwab, Peter Foles, Michael Babin, Carmel Babin and Rocky Essick.  Many thanks to all the workers and we will need plenty help for next year to help sell these T Shirts! Great job guys the FPA really needed your help. If you were inadvertently left off this list contact Reggie Daigle or Bob Druhan.

(10-24-02)Ford Vs Chevy Hospitality Party   by Richard Schwab

We had another GREAT Hospitality Party! Plenty of Beer, Drinks, Shrimp Etouffee, Burgers, Dogs, Bar-B-Q Beef, Chips, and "Pasta lottsta" Jambalaya, (Thanks to Lamarque Ford). The D J was there with dancing around the pool and the second annual Payne in the pool show. This year it was Tom taking the dip. There must have been 350 racers and family members at the Party and over 600 onlookers at the Wal Mart parking lot, for the Great "Fire Up" of the Funny Cars and Jet Car. It was unreal. If you missed it, you really missed a Great Party. There were over 130 racers at the track Saturday for early check in. Larry said it was from him getting the word out, but we all know they were there for the PARTY!!! I want to thank all our workers for working so hard. I don't think they could have gone another minute! Thanks go out to Richard Schwab, Cathy Schwab, Charlie Robinson, Betty Robinson, Edde Sessum, Joe Chedotal Sr., Harold Chedotal, Larry Chedotal Sr., Debbie Mitchell, Tommy Moran, Bob Druhan, and Don "The DUCK" Clausing. To all the members who partied, and had a great time, next year I ask that you help us out when we really need it... At the end when it's time to clean up! If you were inadvertently left off this list contact Richard Schwab.
