The Ford vs. Chevy Drags are produced in partnership with Gulfport Dragway pitting 100 Fords and 100 Chevys in Bracket-style Elimination racing. The 2002 Ford vs. Chevy Drags are set for Oct. 20, 2002, at Gulfport Dragway. Spectators are invited to all FPA Drags. Spectator tickets, which include Pit access, are always available at the gate. Racer tickets are available from the FPA approximately two months before the race.

Although it rained Saturday night it did not dampen the festivities of F/c
2001. Due to rain the party was moved into the hotel banquet room. The food was great, we
had a disk jockey playing music and even had a new aquatic member go in the pool.
The rain canceled the funny car and jet cars fire up. The tee shirt sales went well on both sides of the track, and although we did not do too well with the spectator side food booth, it did do well for the first try and gave us another outlet for tee shirts on that side.
Teddy Nobles had the best seat at the race got the F/c count. chevy's won (101), Fords won (87). chevy's 3 blow ups to Ford's 0. Low E.T. Ford went to Bill Weaver, 8.051 @ 166.66mph and Low E.T. chevy was Freddy Sandrock, 7.249 @ 180.72mph. The Long Distance award went to Jerome Payne of San Antonio, Texas.
